Quickening: Embodying the Energy of Early Spring, A Movement Series
Join me for a four week movement series where we will work with the quickening energy of early spring. This season of the year is a time when our inner creativity begins to stir and our bodies benefit greatly from focused movement practices. You can expect these yoga classes to be dynamic, taught in a mindful vinyasa style. With each class, we will get our bodies moving for the first hour and will use the last 30 minutes of class to focus on breath work and meditation practice. These classes are ideal for those who have experience practicing vinyasa yoga or who are familiar with me as a teacher.
Peak postures we will explore during this series include-Â
- Urdhva Danurasana - Upward Facing Bow or Wheel
- Hanumanasana - Seated Splits
- Adho Mukha Vrksasana - Handstand (using the wall)
- Vasistasana/Wild Thing - Side Plank & Wild Thing
You do not need to be expert at practicing these postures to attend these classes, you just need a willingness to explore them. If you are not familiar with my teaching style please know that I am committed to very intentionally sequenced classes that will assist you in accessing the more complex shapes and I will be providing a clear demonstration, step by step instructions, progressive stages and modifications for the peak shapes so that you can practice safely.
If you have questions about this series please reach out to me directly at [email protected]
Dates & Times:Â Wednesday mornings, 9:30 - 11am PST
These classes will be live-streamed on Zoom and a recording will be issued immediately after class.
